Community Council has come together to advise the Sinclair Secondary School Principal and the Durham District School Board on issues that relate to the quality of education being delivered at Sinclair Secondary School.
We accomplish this by:
- developing strong and positive communication links with the various constituents (parents, community members, both neighbours and business, students, teachers, school administration, and non-teaching staff)
- ensuring that issues that are critical to any of the constituents area tabled and that the Council responds in its advisory role
- ensuring that Sinclair Secondary School priorities and programs reflect the needs of the various constituents
- ensuring Sinclair Secondary School needs are reflected in the Durham District School Board system priorities and programs
The Sinclair Community Council is comprised of up to:
- twenty parents/guardians of students enrolled in the school;
- two community representatives;
- one student;
- the school principal;
- one teacher assigned to the school;
- one non-teaching employee assigned to the school.
Our deliberations and discussions support the "Completion Outcomes" of the Durham District School Board, Sinclair Secondary School and the overall guidelines of the Ministry of Education.
Meetings are scheduled on the third Wednesday of every month at 7:00pm EST in the Resource Centre.
It is the understanding of the Council that members represent the total school population and not a single interest area.
