Program Description
Program Description Co-operative Education has a two-pronged focus: readying students for the transition from school to the world of work and preliminary career exploration for college and university bound students. Sinclair's Co-op programme attracts a number of unique students in addition to its regular clientele: high performance athletes who are performing at the provincial, national, or international levels and who practice in excess of twelve hours per week; elite music students who are studying at the ARCT level, spend many weekly hours with their instruments and who have aspirations to a career in the performing arts; French Immersion students who wish to explore careers in second language areas and who wish to improve their level of French proficiency; and finally, technology students who are considering careers in the skilled trades area upon graduation and who desire greater time spent in perfecting classroom knowledge through hands-on experience in the shop.
Preparation for the Future
Sinclair's Co-op students graduate into many different areas: into permanent jobs, into college enrolment, into apprenticeship internships, as well as onto university campuses. The programme offers a taste of almost every career from aviation technology to zoology. Students who bring new possibilities are welcomed.
